There are numerous mistakes that you are likely to make in the twenties which could affect you for the rest of your life. There are important lessons you have to learn if you want to have a great year for the rest of your life before thirty.

1. Make friends with positive people alone

Make friends with positive people alone, In your 20th, one of the most exciting things you do is hanging around with peers and associating with others.

If you don’t do that you will associate with people that will destroy you, the people you spend the most time with add up to who we will become.

If you want to fly high you need to join the eagles not chickens, there are people who are less accomplished in their personal and their professional life, and there are people who are more accomplished than us, if you spend time with those people who are behind you, your average will go down and retain your success.

But if you spend time with people who are more accomplished than you, no matter how challenging that mine be you will become more successful, be conscious with people you spend the most time with because your association determines your acceleration.

2. You can’t please everyone

Now that you are an adult, you must know what you want for your life and go for it, your siblings, friends or even parents may not like this but it doesn’t matter most adult live their lives trying to please everyone and that is why they fail in life now that you are 20th, you must start practicing decision making and how to hurt people.

Yes I mean it you will have to learn how to hurt people sometimes in your life journey.

“I don’t know the secret to success, but the secret to failure is trying to please everyone”.

You don’t need everyone to agree with you or even like you, is human nature to belong, to be like, to be respected and value.

But not at the expense of your time and happiness, other people can’t give you the validation that you seek, that has to come from insight.

At your 20th you must know what you want out of life and be willing to go for it, even if some of your friends and siblings don’t like your decision.

3. You need a library

To be successful you have to know a hundred of things most people don’t know and the best place to get such is inside books.

I know most people hate reading but you must be different, you must be different because you are what you read. If your body is a reflection of what you eat then your mind is a reflection of what you read and study.

Feed your body with good stuff your candy-like social media, reading has many benefits like boosting your imagination improving your communication skills keeping your brain sharp and it also allows you to learn about new things, and become a more knowledgeable person.

4. Bad habits won’t help

At your 20th you are under a great temptation to try things, smoking, drinking, sex and parties.

But that is like setting your self up for a poor future, whether it is a poor sleep circle you have acquired over the years or is your excessive smoking tendency lying and petty stealing you need to get rid of that bad habit now or they will destroy you in the nearest future.

5. Lean-to be organized

The mess is always something we all need to deal with, it can be a mess at work or mess at home, most often by not. This mess starts with small things plotted all over until you get a point where the mess becomes on organized skills and becomes too hard for you to handle.

Why some people take this to a completely different level and get upset about it, I am just asking you to free yourself from the mess that you are and start reorganizing yourself.

6. Don’t take anything for granted

We often don’t appreciate what we have until it is gone, that includes your health, your family opportunity, your job, the money you have, or think you will have tomorrow.

When you are young it seems that your parents will always be there, but they won’t you think you will have plenty of time to have with your old friends or spend time with your new ones, but you don’t, you will think the money will always be there to spend tomorrow you don’t.

Nothing in your life is guaranteed to be there tomorrow, including those you love and the opportunities that you are getting.

This is a hard life lesson to learn, the most important of all, life can change in an instant. So try and appreciate what you have and use it wisely so that your 30th won’t regret it.

7. Make a budget

It is not news that most adults are poor, one of the reasons for this is because they spend their money to acquire liabilities.

The first thing you must learn is to control your finances, you need to learn how to be budgeting in your 20th. Budgeting doesn’t need to be complex or difficult you can make it to extremely simple by limiting how you spend.

8. Form savings and investment habits

One-third of Americans have no savings, not because they don’t have an income because they don’t have savings habits.

More than 95% of the world will go broke if they lose their jobs today because they have no investment. Now that you are in your 20th try and learn various investment skills.

9. Give up your need to be liked

Think of yourself as a market niche there will be a lot of people who like that niche, there will be an individual who doesn’t.

If you are a lady don’t follow up fashion, if you do trends to be liked, If you do you are destroying yourself esteemed. If you are a man don’t join that gang in buying everything latest to be liked and respected by everyone.

10. Ask questions; there’s no shame in not knowing

There is no shame in saying I don’t know, pretending to be perfect does not make you perfect. Stop pretending by claiming you know it all or you have it all, ask questions even stupid ones, it may look stupid for some minutes but it will increase your knowledge and make you become a better person.

11. Determine to solve the problem

There are hundreds of problems in the society around us that need to be addressed, find out that thing which bothers you the most and focus your energy by creating a solution, you should make the world a better place and you can only do that by solving a problem.

12. Don’t rush into things

when we were young we feel like though we have to do everything at once. Slow down don’t rush into things, why you need to serious and focus you don’t have to get everything figured out at the same time.

13. Life is not always fair

We are very sorry it’s the truth, you have to make mistake, failure will make you cry a couple of times during your life journey, so be prepared for that, life is not fair to get used to it.
