FG not still meeting the needs of ASUU

The Federal government of Nigeria has still not met the standard of the Academic Staff Union of Universities.

According to NIGERIAN TRIBUNE, ASUU made this known in a statement at Ibadan on Thursday when they said that only two out of the eight demands they submitted to the Federal government have been met.

The meeting which was held at Ladoke Akintola University(LAUTECH) was attended by Professors from other universities. Information Guides Nigeria

In a statement by the coordinator, Professor Oyebamiji Oyegoke, the strike was “a ticking bomb” and panicked that the educational system might be involved in another crisis.

“For the avoidance of doubt, ASUU stated that only salary shortfall and setting up of visitation panels to the Federal Government-owned universities have been addressed by the government in nine months.

“Other demands such as the renegotiation of conditions of service, injection of revitalisation funds, payment of earned academic allowances, implementation of the University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS) have not been addressed,” he said.
