ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

a. Postgraduate Diploma Programmes

Candidates must possess:

i. Five credit passes including English Language and Mathematics at ‘O’ Level at maximum of two sittings;

ii. Relevant Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University not lower than Third Class; or

iii. Bachelor’s degree with at least Second Class (Lower Division) in an area not related to the field applying for may be considered; and

iv . Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Lower Credit in related field of study from a Polytechnic or any recognized institution.

v. A Candidate with Pass in Bachelor’s Degree, Higher National Diploma (HND) or its equivalent will not be considered for admission and registration.

b. Professional Master Degree Programmes

Candidates must possess:

i. Five credit passes including English Language and Mathematics at ‘O’ Level at a maximum of two sittings and

ii. First Degree of Kaduna State University or any recognized university in relevant field with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) or

iii. A candidate with a Third Class Degree or HND and a Postgraduate Diploma from Kaduna State University or any recognized institution with a CGPA of not less than 3.50

c. Academic Master Degree Programmes

Candidates must possess:

i. Five credit passes including English Language and Mathematics at ‘O’ Level at a maximum of two sittings;

ii. First Degree of Kaduna State University or any recognized university in relevant field with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division); and

iii. A Candidate with a Postgraduate Diploma with a CGPA of not less than 3.50.

d. M.Phil/PhD Degree Programmes

Candidates must possess:

i. Five credit passes including English Language and Mathematics at ‘O’ Level at a maximum of two sittings;

ii. First Degree of Kaduna State University or any recognized university in relevant field with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) and

iii. An academic master degree of Kaduna State University or any recognized University in relevant field having CGPA below the PhD requirements or

iv. A Professional master degree of Kaduna State University or any recognized University in relevant field with a CGPA of not less than 3.50.

e. Doctor of Philosophy Programmes

Candidates must possess:

i. Five credit passes including English Language and Mathematics at ‘O’ Level at a maximum of two sittings;

ii. First Degree of Kaduna State University or any recognized university in relevant field with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division); and

iii. Academic Master Degree of Kaduna State University or any recognized university in the proposed field of study with minimum CGPA of 4.00 for faculty of science and 3.50 for other facilities.

Each PhD applicant is require to prepare a tentative research proposal of between 1000 – 1500 words which has to be uploaded at the time of application.

Begin your application by creating a Profile; a Username and Password would be sent to your e-mail. Continue your Registration by login with your Profile details.

Fill the Application Form.

Please note that the University will not enter into correspondence on its decision with any candidate.

Candidates offered provisional admission will be required to produce transcripts of academic record and originals of their credentials at the point of registration.

CLOSING DATE

Forms must be completed and submitted on or before 31st March, 2022. Applicants are encouraged to submit Transcripts of Academic Record to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, Kaduna State University, Kaduna.

N.B.

There will be no extension of closing date.

Notwithstanding compliance with the above conditions, all admissions offered are provisional and the School of Postgraduate Studies reserves the right to offer, confirm or deny admission.
