Answers to NECO 2021 Theory Questions

Below are theory questions and their answers, including some of the objective questions.

  1. Calculate the distance covered by a car that travels at an average speed of 100kmh-1in 5minutes.

Solution:

Firstly, convert the average speed from kmh-1 to km/min since the time is in minutes. Therefore; 100km per hour = 100/60km per minute.

From the formula: Speed = distance/time, make distance the subject of the formula. That is, Distance = speed X time

= 100/60 x 5 = 8.3km Ans.

  1. Calculate the acceleration of an unbalanced force of 20N acts on a 4.0kg mass.

Solution:

We will be resolving the solution to question two:

Formula; F = maBest Steps on How to Subscribe for Airtel 1GB for ₦100 2022

Where F =20N, and M=4.0kg; therefore 20N = 4a; 20/4 = 4/4

Making “a” (acceleration due to gravity) the subject of the formula, we have; a = 5ms-1 Ans.

  1. body of mass 3.0kg moves with a velocity of 10ms-1. Calculate the momentum of the body.

Solution:

P=mv

=3 x 10

=30.0kgms-1 Ans.
