Strike: FG explains payment delay; Reveals When It Will Pay ASUU
The Federal Government has given reasons for the delay in the payment of the University Revitalization fund and other promises made to the union last year.
This was disclosed by Emeka Nwajiuba- the Minister of Education on Monday in an interview with newsmen, assuring that the Government is working on plans that will lead to the release of funds by the Central Bank of Nigeria. He also debunks ASUU’s claim of a communication bridge between the two parties.
According to the Minister:
“Why won’t the Federal Government take their calls? You called me with an unknown number and I picked your call, so why won’t we pick calls from ASUU? Who did they reach out to? Talks on the funds for the revitalization of universities and ASUU are in progress. “We are pursuing the CBN to be clear on the timing. Let ASUU reach out to_ us.”Dollar to Naira Today
