University of Colorado PA Program Description

The University of Colorado PA Program is a three-year, innovative curriculum is structured in such as way as to integrate clinical and basic sciences to prepare graduates with the knowledge, competencies, and attitudes to practice medicine as part of the health care team. So, How Do I Get Admitted And What Are The Admission Requirements for the Program?

The admission cycle for the 2019/2020 academic year opens late spring 2019, and the deadline for the CASPA and supplemental applications is September 1. Do note that the CASPA application needs to be complete (not verified) by September 1 in order to meet the deadline.  Also, GRE scores must be received by September 1st for all applicants.  CHA/PA has rolling admissions.

The CHA/PA Program is one of the participants in the Centralized Application for Physician Assistants (CASPA), and the CASPA website can be accessed at https://caspa.liaisoncas.com.

To be eligible to apply to our program, an applicant must complete the CASPA application and CHA/PA program Supplemental Application.

Below are the required documents to submit in order to process your application:

  1. Duly verified CASPA application, including three letters of recommendation.  The CASPA application for the 2019-20 academic cycle will be available in April 2019.
  2. A CHA/PA Program supplemental application and a non-refundable supplemental application fee.  The school no longer accepts supplemental applications for the 2018-19 cycle.  The supplemental application for the 2019-20 admission cycle will be made available by mid-May 2019.
  3. All applicants are mandated to take the General GRE exam.  It must be taken within the past 5 years.  September 1st is the deadline for receiving all GRE scores.  If you have a graduate level degree, you are then free to submit scores older than 5 years.  Please, submit GRE scores to the University of Colorado Physician Assistant CASPA code 3722. Do note that only scores sent to this GRE code will be accepted.

University of Colorado PA Program Cost and fees

Tuition for resident students is $52,350 for the full 3 year program, while non-resident students pay around $113,349 in tuition for the full 3 year program.

For students who have been granted Residency Status, they may petition for residency after their first year living in Colorado.  The tuition rate is $72,683 for the full 3 year program for out-of-state students who are granted residency status after their first year.
